About Me

Samuel Okoth Oliech is my name. I was born in Yala within the jurisdiction of Siaya County in the Republic of Kenya. I am married to Anastacia Atieno and God has blessed us with three children, two boys and a girl. They are lively and lovely children, the first born is Gabriel, then Phoebe who is the only daughter followed by Reagan the last born as of now. As their parents, we aspire to bring them up in the fear and admonition of the Lord, for we are saved and sanctified by the precious blood of the Lamb. We do acknowledge the big role we have to do to see that they are provided with education, shelter, food and clothing, besides being brought up in a completely different environment, lifestyle and unprofitable cultural beliefs which were part of our lifestyle when we grew up.
Back to my personal life, I am a third born in a family of six children, five boys and one girl. I completed my basic education in the year 1991, and thereafter joined Alambo Lakeside College for my secondary education for a period of two years after which I dropped out of school due to lack of school fees. My parents could not afford to pay for my school fees because of poverty. As a result of this, I had to drop out of school and find ways to help my Mum in sustaining and bringing up my younger siblings. I started and engaged myself in farming vegetables to help sustain myself and assist my mum with the household budget. In the year 1998, my cousin wired my way to a free sponsorship program funded by World Bank in conjunction with the Kenyan government for the needy and the less fortunate in the society. So, I miraculously joined Kenya Industrial Training Institute for an automotive engineering course which I successfully completed two years later. Since then, I have been the sole bread winner not only to our extended family but also to my mother-in-law who is also a widow and to my sister who also lost her husband in 2007 leaving her behind with four children under her care.

My Business

Following continual financial constraints on my part, and the financial obligations I have to meet every month, we engaged each other as a family on how to overcome this challenge of accumulating debts by the end of every month. The only way was to supplement my income. We decided to open a small business to start with. After this meeting, we were so determined and optimistic that by the end of every month, we were putting aside a considerable amount of money by denying ourselves many basic necessities for us to achieve our goal. This culture of savings went on for six months, and finally our vision of starting a retail shop came to fruition in April 2012. I can testify that our business took off very fast and today it is viable and with a high potential growth. True to its inception goals and objectives, today we use the proceeds to help pay for school fees for our three children, paying rent, and supporting our mothers who are all widows with no one to rely upon except their God. On receiving my first loan, I upgraded my stock, and brought in more new consumable brands which were out of my reach financially. I want to thank you in advance, Zidisha. May God bless you mightily as you put my financial request into your humble consideration.

Loan Proposal

If granted this loan, I'm planning to buy building materials like stones, cement, timber and nails for our residential house. As a family we have managed to buy a piece of land with the proceeds from our businesses you've been financing. We've therefore, decided that it is also good to start developing it so that in the near future we could relocate and do the business in our own premises, this would exempt us from paying monthly rents and thus increase our income in terms of profit which will in turn help us to complete these loans in a timely manner. On the other hand, when we are living in our own property we can engage in many activities like poultry farming or even in livestock farming. With these projects in mind, we are still optimistic that through you our beloved lenders, you will take as far. Thank you once again.

First and foremost, it is my pleasure to convey my gratitude to zidisha team for this wonderful initiative. It has really been a blessing to many and to me in particular, since the time I joined in April 2016, I can count so many blessings attached to it, from my retail shop, buying a motorbike and purchasing a sewing machine, I can testify that I am a beneficiary of this life changing organization. Proceeds from these businesses have helped me purchase a piece of property which I have started developing & I very optimistic that with zidisha's continued lending I'll relocate to my own piece of land in the near future.

The financial environment is so cruel in terms of repaying the debt. It is my desire to complete repaying this loan as soon as possible but the little I get only meets goes towards the daily pressing basic needs. I therefore urge politely to be given a little bit more time to stabilize. Thanks so much for your patience. Samuel.

First I would like to thank you my lenders for giving me this opportunity to adjust my repayment, however, I'm still in a fix financially speaking, and it is my prayer that you can allow me to restart paying any figure below kshs 1000/=, by doing so, will really enable me to be back on my payment schedule. Any figure above Kshs 1000/= will really inconvenience me, due to the effects of this pandemic called covid-19. Thank you for your consideration.
    Samuel.

This is to let you know that my business collapsed due to harsh economic melt down caused by the pandemic, I therefore request for the change in the installment amount from time to time. It is therefore my humble request that you can consider to adjust the amount to lower figures so that I can repay any amount I will be able to. Higher figures will be a stumbling block to me considering my earning as at present. It is my desire to complete paying this loan, however, the lowest figures you've placed in the box that I can choose from is too high for me, hence my humble plea that you reduce them, so that I can pay what I can afford for now. When the economy will normalize, I promise to pay higher figures to complete paying this loan so that others could benefit from the same. Yours sincerely, Samuel.

I had written the reason for the change of my installment last week but it seems it was not effected. I hereby request again to allow me pay kshs 51 for the next five weeks as I lay down strategies to start paying back reasonable amount of money towards this loan. we all know that many businesses have been affected by this pandemic, including my own business. I therefore, request humbly to bear bear with as we continue to pray for good times ahead.

This is the third time I'm readjusting my installment repayment, this due to the financial meltdown we are undergoing, but I'm optimistic that this will come to an end sometimes in the future. I'm therefore, appreciating the fact that you also bear with us this bleak situation. May God bless you as you willingly extend to us this helping hand. Samuel

Following the global financial meltdown, our country is severely affected by the corona virus pandemic, all sectors of our economy are nearly collapsing, this has rendered our small businesses ineffective, so it is my prayer that I be given a bit more latitude of time as we still struggle to cop up with the situation. God bless you and give you grace for more patience. Thank you.

There is a partial lockdown following the pandemic and this has rendered closure of businesses. It is therefore my prayer and humble request that you'll accept my installment adjustment for this unknown period of time. Thank you and may God bless you all. Samuel.

I hereby forward a request for readjustment of my loan. As things stand now, the COVID-19 pandemic has totally changed almost everything, businesses are really struggling to stay afloat if not shut down. It is therefore my prayer that I be granted another installment adjustment as stated above & if possible a relief for a certain period as we stratergize the next plan of action.

I'm reducing the amount due to harsh financial status I'm passing through right now. I find relief in paying the amount I can afford instead of defaulting altogether. So kindly bear with me, as I eagerly look forward to paying the entire amount I owe the organisation. May God grant to all of us a prosperous Happy New Year.

First and foremost I want t apologize for not making any repayment for the last one and a half months, we were struck by the sudden and untimely death of our mum on 9th October, and as you know in such a situation there must be funeral expenses to incur, I was caught in between a hard place and a rock and I was forced to divert the funds I had requested from you to facilitate the program of the said funeral. It is therefore my humble request that you grant me ample time so that I may get back on my feet financially and I will clear all the arrears that I have so far. It is my prayer that you'll understand my situation and your consideration will highly be appreciated.
    Thanking you in advance is;
    Samuel Okoth Oliech.

Hi my dear lenders, first and foremost I want to thank God for the good work you doing to elevate our financial status so that our lives can radiate with hope. I have a question which is really bothering me, and I will be glad if I get the answer. Is it mandatory that you deduct credit risk payment for an active member who has shown extreme commitment in repaying all the loans advanced to him since joining this platform? Will not this affect my planned budget considering that I can't borrow beyond my credit limit? And what will happen to the initial amount you witheld at the beginning when I applied my first loan & this amount was deducted with a promise that when you feel to opt out this amount will be reimbursed?
