About Me
My name is Michael Mwaura Ndungu. Born and raised in Mahutia village, Muranga County Kenya. Am 27 years old. Am food technologist by profession with specialization on Agricultural produce value addition.Am a graduate from Jommo kenyatta university of agriculture and Technology.
I have great passion for entrepreneurship. I have practised it in the last five years and more so specifically to agricultural value addition from Mangoes, bananas and avocados. I link farmers with the market of agricultural produce to reduce post harvest losses.
My Business
I source market for agricultural produce mainly avocados and bananas. There is normally a large gap between farmers and the market especially during high seasons. i link farmers to the market through sourcing of orders from processing companies and supplying them with fruits at the right time. For avocados I supply mature fruits to oil processing companies in Nairobi. I also supply bananas to the market through aggregation.Most of the farmers are not able to produce sufficient volumes to cater for logistics. I aggregate fruits and transport them to market.
Am sourcing funds to expand my capital so that I can be able to move more volumes especially when production at the farm is high.
The business involves buying fruits at better price at the farm level and selling them to metropolitan areas where demand is high.
Project Proposal
The funds will increase my purchasing power fruits from farmers.This will ensure more fruits are aggregated and collected. I will also add crates for transporting fruits from the farm to the market.
This will bridge the gap between consumers and producers and reduce post harvest loss. and also make fruits more available to consumers.
