About Me

My names are Stephen Nyaga. I was born in 1970 in Nyeri County in Kenya. I am married with 3 sons. I and the rest of my family members love God.
At Mukurweini Division, my great grandfather donated a plot of 11/2 (one and a half) acres of land for the construction of Gikondi Catholic Church in 1880s which is even today celebrated there in the month of August every year. I studied to high school and joined the Kenya Co-operative College where I got a certificate in Co-operative management in 1993. A few years later I started a business with the little savings I had made after I lost my job. In 2008 I moved to Mtwapa at the coast and started selling cooked meat with some chapati baked from wheat flour and ugali baked from maize flour. This is the business I have done even today. I operate from Mwandoni in Mombasa daily where I live with my family to Mtwapa where my business is located.

My Business

I buy stock of 40 kg of meat on average costing sh 14400= (155dollars), 8kg of wheat flour costing sh 440= (5dollars), 10 kg of maize flour costing sh 480= (about 5 dollars), and others like cooking oils, salt, charcoal and water costing sh 350= (about 4 dollars). I have hired 2 workers costing me sh 16000= (198 dollars) monthly.
My daily operational cost is about sh 5000= (56 dollars). After my daily sales of between 6000= and sh 7000= I am able to make a saving of about 21 dollars (sh 1900=) weekly. This enables me to pay my workers and take care of my family in form of food sh 13000= (about 142 dollars, school fees sh 7500= (about 82 dollars). After paying my rents for the residence sh 5000= (about 55 dollars) and business premises sh 3000= (about 33 dollars) I shall be able to comfortably pay sh 600= (about 7 dollars) loan repayment installments weekly.

Loan Proposal

I have not been able to buy all the required items and make a good face of the food cafe because the money has not been really enough. I am planning to buy timber to renovate the cafe and have a better face costing about sh 6000=( about 65 dollars), 5 roofing sheets costing about sh 3500= (about 38 dollars) and buy some 3 new tables for my clients. This will cost me about sh 14900= (about 164 dollars) and sh 2500= (about 27.5 dollars) for labor.
With the loan I am applying for helping me to do the above I will have a better place for my clients in both space and outlook. This wii raise my level of clients in number and the subsequent increase in daily profits.
Mine is to thank Zidisha for this program and allthe lenders who are willingly offering their cash to help the low income man to make our dreams come true.
God bless you Zidisha and all the lenders.
