About Me

My name is Abigail Owusu from Accra-Ghana. I am a mother of one kid . After given birth to my kid at a very tender age, my parents advised me not to give up on my educational dreams. I was convinced by a gentlman who after getting me pregnant refused to take responsibility of the child. I did not give up and through the advice of my community leaders i got enrolled in the nursing and midwifery training college in Pantang-Accra. My child is in school and live with my parents. I am a single parent and also a student which has make it very difficult for me to make ends meet. I have started a business in school to get money to buy the little stuffs and i need and to pay my kid school fees. Even though i did not start the business with a big capital, the profit i get is very good and has helped me a lot. I learn and work very hard to accomplish my vision of becoming a good nurse and partnership with Zidisha has offered me hope and i am very optimistic i would be a very good entrepreneur and business owner so that i can give back to my community and other to achieve their financial and educational freedom. I want my children to grow and get the best form of education so that they can contribute significantly to the improvement/ advancement of the world.
Reading is my hobby, expecially studying the word of God.

My Business

I sell clothes and ready made materials to my fellow students and all those in need of it on campus. It is the best business on campus in terms of flexibility and income generation because it is easy to operate and the rate the customers buy the goods is very encouraging and outstanding hence my decision to do this business.
Pantang nursing and midwifery college is located in Pantang-Accra. The students of this college specialised in Psychiatric nursing. we do a lot of practical and field work. Students need sometime different clothes aside their uniforms to perform certain duties which makes my goods on high demands all the time.
I need about 1000 dollars to buy some clothes to sell and I can make an overall profit of about 500 dollars every week. The cost of the goods i will procure are detailed below;
clothes for men: 400 dollars
clothes women: 500 dollars
Handkerchiefs :100 dollars
When these goods are being procured, it could generate profit in the margin of 500 to 600 dollars every week. The profit will be reinvested in growing the business and making it attractive and bigger so that it attractive more customers on daily basis.
I am a nursing trainee and i need the money to pay my college fees and repay it in affordable terms which will help me to get a sound mind to study and pass my exams and to avoid being thrown out from school because of school fees arrears and i hope Zidisha would come to my rescue.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan to procure more goods and resell them to generate enough money which will be reinvested into the business to grow it. I need about 1000 dollars to procure more of the goods to resell and maximize my profits and also i will get money to take care of my educational needs. This loan when granted will offer me the opportunity to make enough profit on daily and weekly basis.
The loan when granted will double my earnings. Help me achieve my vision.
