About Me

I am Joyce Yegon, married with two children. I was born in Rongai, Nakuru County. I did my standard eight exam and thereafter proceeded to high school where I did the KCSE exam, i.e . O-levels. Due to the financial constraints of my parents, I could not proceed to college. My other siblings were still in primary and secondary school.

My Business

After I got married, I engaged myself to a business of selling clothes, mainly for women and children. I used to move from one house to the other, but within a period of two years I stopped doing it because most of my clothes were taken on credit, and my customers could not honor their pledges. Thus, at the end of the month, I was making a loss instead of a profit.

Early 2013, I decided to start a new business i.e. a kiosk selling a variety of household goods, from foodstuffs to other items like buckets, sandals, etc. Already I had bought a plot, so after I had gotten enough profit, last year I decided to build my own plot where I would not be paying monthly rent. I used almost Ksh. 150,000 to build it.

Having moved to my plot, I need to stock my stock properly so that I reap a lot of profit from it. I also plan to extend my kiosk in order to have a small store where I will keep items bought in bulk to avoid any inconvenience.

I am at the centre and my shop is the first one, so I have many customers who come to my shop. I have a passion for it!

My requested loan will be used to restock my kiosk as I use my profit to extend it. Per month, after subtracting the expenses, my profit is Ksh. 10-15,000. My target this year is to raise to about Ksh. 20-30,000 per month. My children are in Class 2 and Kindergarten, respectively, and thus I will use some of my profit to pay their school fees of about Ksh. 9,000 per term.

Loan Proposal

I will use my loan to restock my kiosk. I will buy more foodstuffs like rice, which is normally in high demand. I will buy 100 kg, costing Us. dollar $75.22, i.e each 50 kg is US dollar $37.6, a good quality brand being Mother Star. The remaining Us. dollar $21.50 will be used to buy a variety of sandals, especially for women.
