About Me

I am Philister munala from Kenya aged 24 years old.i was born and raised in Kenyatta a place known as Eastleigh. I grew up with both my parents my mum being the breadwinner of our family. I have recently completed my degree in bachelor of commerce marketing at Kenyatta University.I decided to start my poultry business in the year 2014 due to financial strains. I wanted to help my mum in raising fee for my University degree.I have overcome hardships in life because of my business. It has helped me manage to pay my fee and I really want to continue helping my mum in paying for my younger siblings School fee.

My Business

My business is purely poultry farming.I have just been dealing with kienyeji chicken in the past but currently I really want to add broilers chicken in my business.i have been incurring costs in buying food for my chicken which budgets to a total of 5000ksh, also buying medicine for my chicken to prevent them from getting any disease and this totals to 3000ksh..My loan request will help me in adding broilers chicken, expand the house where they will live, add food and medicine to them..The Nairobi Agricultural show is soon approaching and I want to showcase my business at the show..This will really help me in increasing my profits and continue to support my younger siblings..Thankyou

Loan Proposal

with the loan i would buy the following which I will be selling during the Nairobi International Trade Fair .

Ice-cream 110 dollars
Soft drinks 110 dollars
Snacks 90 dollars
Hiring candy floss machine 55 dollars
Ingredients for making candy floss 53 dollars
Total 418 dollars

I would really appreciate it if I could get the funding for this venture

from the profits accrued I will be able to plough back some money to my poultry business which is currently doing very well and also to save for my next semesters fees

Hello zidisha team..I would like to know if the credit risk fee is refundable to the borrower on completion of the loan repayment because the fee it's too much and I had planned to increase my stock with the money

      Dear Philister,

as far as I know (and I'm not a zidisha official or volunteer) the credit risk fee is non-refundable. You can read about it in the forum: www.zidisha.org/forum-threa...

I hope your numbers still work out with the fund reduced by the credit risk payment.

      Best wishes

      Michael

    Dear lenders and zidisha team.

i would like to change my installment from two thousand Kenyan shillings weekly to one thousand Kenyan shillings weekly as i cannot be able to afford the current installment as currently I am only relying on the eggs as the chicks have not yet matured fully .
i was able to pay the two thousand Kenyan shillings installment before as i was involved in other side business which included the various agricultural shows that were held in the various counties in kenya .

i attended the Nairobi agricultural trade fair which was my first time and being a first timer I wasn’t very conversant with some logistics and i made loss .
being someone who doesn’t give up easily I decided to redeem myself as I had learnt a lot in regards to the mistakes I did .with my knowledge I proceeded to the kitale agricultural show and being wiser and also partnering with my best friend I was able to make some profit which I channeled back to my chicken business
By December my chicks will be ready for consumption and being a festive season I know my business will pick up and I will be able to reschedule my amount to a higher installment.
I have decided to reschedule the loan as I don’t want to affect my repayment record and have a bad reputation that is why I have settled on reducing the weekly installment to a thousand Kenyan shillings which is at least manageable for me
Thanks for the support you have accorded us to improve our standard of living

hello everything is okay . we are still pursuing the chicken business .
from my proceeds i was able to partner with a friend who had layers and it was becoming very hard for her to manage since she stays in a different county .
