About Me

I am a 50 year-old lady. I moved from Banyuwangi to Sading, Bali around 10 years ago to start a new business. Elementary school was the only education level I have completed in life and I am living in a big family. My first kid, Slamet, is now working and already has two kids. My second child, Sugiarto, and the third one, Iin, both have one kid in their family. My youngest kid is still a sophomore in junior high. I love to be present on site where the food stall is although the business is still quite small. I start the food stall because I love cooking, and I am really good at it. I had a lot of cooking traditional Indonesian cuisine experiences, including beef satay, lamb satay, rawon soup, and others. I am currently well known in my area with my special foods such as meatball, fried rice, curry rice, and javanese rawon soup. People in my area sometimes order some foods from me for their wedding parties. I need to carefully manage my money everyday to fund my business need, to pay my youngest child school tuition and to cover other household expenses.

My Business

I just opened a small food stall called "Warung Mandiri Putri" a couple months ago. My business has been growing pretty good, but I would like to expand this food stall business by opening a branch in the city of Dallung. The reason I am doing this business is because I am really passionated and good at cooking. I believe this will become a good business because food will never go away from the daily need of people and people here never stop loving it. I have a lot of costumers because my food has a reasonable price. I spend around 300,000 Rupiah (around $40) everyday to cover the cost of ingredients and usually get around 400,000 back when there are not many people coming or about 600,000 when crowded. For this very reason, I would like to borrow some money via Zidisha to undergo my expansion plan.

Loan Proposal

While trying to buy more ingredients and to serve more varieties of food, I also want to expand the business by opening a new small branch in another area.

About Me

Umur saya 50th.

My Business

Any news from Ms. Sunarwati? If her family still lives in Bali maybe there is a chance to contact her....

i just got re-married and moved to Sumatra to follow my husband. As a consequence, I need to close down my business in Bali. I promised to repay all my loads to Zidisha this month after successfully selling the land I currently own. I apologize for this situation and want to thank all Zidisha's lenders in a very special way

    Dear lenders,

After many unsuccessful attempts to contact Ms. Sunarwati by phone, we learned that she has married and moved to another island. Our verification partner in Bali, Yayasan Timur Sejahtera, is currently working to find Ms. Sunarwati's new address and telephone number through her extended family who are still living in Bali. We will continue to work to reestablish contact with Ms. Sunarwati, and will keep you informed of our progress.

    Regards,

    Julia Kurnia
    Director, Zidisha Inc.

Thank you for the loan, madams, sirs, and all lenders.

I'm very happy today, because I have just received an offer to occupy a store space near my house, which is owned by a cooperative association in my neighborhood. I will no longer need to sell outside our living quarters, but can stay close to home.

May this blessing help my business grow and develop further. Thank you.

We went to the bank to open Ibu Pipit's account last Friday, and apparently one of her required IDs is expired so she has to make a newer one which takes around a week. hopefully by this end of the week we can open her bank account. sorry for the delay, lenders.
this is the second time we have this kind of problem and for the future we are implementing a better preparatory measures for the next indonesian borrowers.
    thank you for your patience!

Ibu Sunarwati lives nearby my previous guest house in Sading. I met her first time when i had my lunch in her warung (food stall), and then it became a habit to eat in her food stall because the food is good and the price is reasonable.
We then started to talk about what i do in Bali and she was interested in borrowing from zidisha but still hesitant to do so because she had had 3 accidents this year after her borrowing in the previous local MFI. She did make a good payment history, but she told me that she is afraid something bad is going to happen to her so she would not be able to pay back.
I assure her that it is not the problem. Something bad happens because it is meant to happen and not because she meant to make it happened.
As long as she has a willing to expand to expand her business, a good faith to pay back the loan, she should not be afraid to borrow from us.
Ibu Wati's food is Javanese food where many of the immigrants from Java to Bali lives around the area.
At this time she has couple varieties of food. The regular mixed rice (nasi campur), meatball (bakso), and fried chicken. Beside her stall, there is a drink stall that i think is a good complementary on her business. Because they are getting along very well and we can order the drink too while we eat in her warung.
Fitri, her youngest, sometimes in warung to help her mother too after she gets back from school and in the weekend.
Ibu Wati is a very lovely woman, and i often found her relatives helping her around in her warung. Sometimes it can e her nephew, or her eldest kid, or even a friend of her.
