About Me

My name is Jane Wachu – born in Nyeri County in Central Kenya. I was born in a big family of 9 and I am the 3rd born. I come from an agriculturally rich region where the main activity is coffee farming.

My parents like most people in the area practised coffee farming and it is from this activity that they raised us up.
It was a hard life because the income was not enough to cater for even the basic needs of the family and we endured lack of many necessities. In spite of the odds, my parents took me to school for my primary and secondary school and I will forever be grateful to them for this.

I managed to get a clerical job at a local health center but the pay was very poor and I quit after a few months. I decided to relocate to Mombasa to live with a friend at the same time trying to get a job for my sustenance. While living there, I enrolled for a short computer course which took me about 6 months to complete.

I am very sound spiritually and I do evangelism work when time allows. I am married with a 3 year old son.

My Business

After my studies and with the help of my friend, I bought a second hand computer to further sharpen my IT skills. My neighbors got very excited at the sight of a computer because many of them had not used or even seen one before. I saw an opportunity of making some money by offering very basic computer training to this crowd. I lived in an area that is economically depressed and I could only charge the students some minimal amounts.

With serious savings and dedication, I bought a second computer after one year to cater for the growing number of students. I can handle about 10 students in a day using my two computers and this gives me a net income of about $200 per month. While this is a modest amount, the future is bright and I believe I can double this income if I get more machines.

Loan Proposal

I have planned to use the money to pay a one year school fees for my son who is currently in Grade 4. I value education very much and I want my son to have quality education. The money will cater for his tuition fees (USD 500) and the balance will be used to cater for other expenses like school kit, books and transport.

By paying for his full year, I will be able to concentrate on my business without having to worry about his school fees for a whole year.

Thank you and I hope you will fund my loan once once more.
