About Me

I was brought up by a single mother. went to school through alot of hardship but managed to perform very well in Primary and secondary school. unfortunately i was not able to continue and from there i have been doing small businesses here and there. I am a single mother of one baby girl who is 6yrs old and i have also hosted an orphan who is 9yrs old. I have been providing for them single handedly till now. when she grows up she would love to be a lawyer.
I am a kikuyu and in our culture we are business oriented and do very well in business.
during my part time I teach peer education amongst young people in my area. i love community work and helping out in any way whenever I can.

My Business

I am involved in fruits business at the Nairobi CBD. I make fruit salad, park them in plastic contains with a folk attached to each,at home in Dagoretti and then deliver them to offices and stall in the city centre.I have been doing the fruit salad business for an year now and its picking up so well.I started with fruits worth $50 and utensils worth $10. I have been buying five kinds of fruit; water melon, mango, pineapple, bananas and ovacado, each each bag at $10. the fruits go for two days because of lack of a better way to carry them from home to the city centre. Therefore $25 is spent daily as capital, and gives me back $8 profit.I also have expenses to deduct, like transport. I use my profits to pay rent, school fees for my daughter and an orphan am hosting. I also buy food with the same money.I would wish to expand my business because the market is really large...I found out most people in offices in town are trying to diet so they can keep fit or loose some weight, and fruits is all they need. unfortunately its challenging for me to carry lots of those packs in public transport. that would call for me to either increase production and get a taxi to be carrying for me, or get a small space in town to make my fruits from. Increasing my capital by $150 and make all the fruits in a day, would give me a profit of $48 daily, which would cater for transportation for a month before I get a small kitchen in town. To ensure all that fruit salad is sold out, i would look for orders a day before and make sure i get as much orders as i need...

Loan Proposal

I intend to add to the profits I made last week from selling my first bale. It costed me 230USD, and gave me 80USD as profit. I refunded the capital n now I have the 80 USD which I am now sourcing for 150USD to get another bale. Being a shopping season I expect to sell it very fast and get another one. I intend to open it and sell the pieces myself to get more returns. A single bale cost KES 23000 and has approximately 650pieces, therefore each piece is KES 35. Which I will sell at KES 100. Giving me 65% profit. That will enable me to cater for operational cost, pay my loan with zidisha n get another bale, cash n not on credit. Kindly help, am looking up to you alone.
