About Me

My name is Cynthia Wambui Kareithi.I am a single mother of three children. My first born is 10 years old the second 6 years old and my last born is 4 years old. They all attend a public primary school here in the neighboring village.I am the sole bread winner and i always struggle to make end meets by providing my family with the basic daily needs.I was married long time ago until in the year 2002,where my husband died as we were living in Londiani,Rift-Valley.Later in the year 2011,we relocated to the current town and i was offered a gift of Kes.25,000 from my uncle to start a small business in order not to be relying well wishers all the time for help.It happened on the same year, i started leasing 1 acre land for cultivating short period produce{3 months}. I started with potatoes and after they mature within the 4th month i harvested,i was able to make good returns compared to the cost i used and that's how i started leasing more land for agribusiness.Currently i have leased 5 acres of land and i have planted different types of foods in every acre of land.Thank you.

My Business

I am a small scale agri-business farmer.Currently I have leased 5 acres of land in Mweiga Valley,Nyeri County,Kenya.which i normally do farming as my business. The land here is very fertile and i use very minimal amount of D.A.P fertilizers during plantation.I am at this time having three casual helpers who we work along from Monday to Saturday to make sure that the farms are clean, planted on time,do the top dressing of the C.A.N or Urea and also harvest the produce as well once they mature for harvesting.i normally sell my produce{potatoes, green maize cob, cabbages}to my customers at the main wholesale market in town. The customers usually buys my goods in bulky, which make me to be tireless in doing this every now and then. For the last three months i was able to get a profit of Kes.65,000.This was after i paid the laborers, fertilizers, transportation of the goods to the market &bought some seedlings for the next planting season.
Currently, there is a higher demand since in this food industry, the population is growing each new day and most of the northern part of Kenya part is arid, making the demand to grow more than the total produce harvested all over Kenya.By this ,i am kindly requesting for more capital so that i can lease 2more acres of land to plant vegetables,Gogettes,red-pepper and tomatoes which are in high demand in the coastal parts of the Country. It is my humble and earnest prayers that through the Zidisha Microfinance support i will be able to feed the Nation with fresh produce from my farm.Thank you in advance.

Loan Proposal

Thanks so much for the supporting my farming. There is an ever demand for this produce once i harvest them making the demand to grow more than the total produce harvested all over Kenya.By this ,i am kindly requesting for more capital so that i will be able to buy vegetables,Gogettes,red-pepper,Capsicum and tomatoes seedlings which will cost Kes.5,000 and the D.A.P fertilezer Kes.2,500.I am certain that since there is a river flowing beneath my plot,i will not only depend with the seasonal rain, rather i will substitute with the irrigation when there is no rain. There is a ready market with the goods, making me to ascertain to you that i will service my loan without any problem and on time. Thanks alot and kindly lend this loan,to feed the Nation.Welcome
