My name is Josphat Bii a resident of Kapsoit in Kericho county in the outskirts of Kericho town. l am 32 years of old, married to Betty Bii and blessed with two kids.l am the third born in a family of six .
I grew up in the rural Kapsoit area where I have a small farm.
Due to financial challenges, I could not study beyond form four and life has not been easy. I do farming full time since 2 and half years ago and has been helping me feed my family.
My hobbies are watching movies and sports during my free time.
I am a farmer and I produce both for home consumption and sale. I emphasize in maize and rish potatoes that do well in our area. The two crops are the staple food for the residents of the region and therefore has a good constant market.
We plant maize twice in a year- the months of February and August while we plant Irish potaoes three times in a year.
Right now we are preparing to plant maize as soon as the rains set in- normally early February.
We are expecting long rains soon during which we will plant maize and later Irish potatoes in the course of February. January has been hard and I am just from paying school fess for my kids which exhausted me of any savings i had. So right now I am trying to source funds buy inputs.
I would therefore use the $100 loan on purchasing certified maize seeds and fertilizer.
The loan will enable me to do a timely early planting which will ensure better perfomance.
