I joined secondary school at Kasoa Secondary School. Due to lack of school fees, I could not go further and also because my mother used to be sick throughout until villagers came to our help. Later, I got another pastor who offered to take me to Polytechnic where l trained as a dressmaker and learned a bit of typing. After that, I went back home and stayed a bit, then later came to Nairobi and worked as a house help. That is where I got some money and started a small business but with difficulties. I struggled with my business, but was able to raise enough money for renting a house and for the school fees for my children. In the course of struggling, I met with a friend who advised me to join Zidisha. She further informed me that I could borrow extra money and stock my business.
I started my clothing production business 2 years ago with capital of 1000 Ghanaian cedi. I bought a sewing machine and some few cloth materials and I paid the shop rent. At that point, I was ready to move on with my business. At first, it was not all that easy; I struggled and after some time it stabilized. I can now pay rent without struggling and make extra profit to make life move on. I do make a profit every month having deducted all the business expenses.
