About Me

Am the last born in a family of Five, my father passed away when I was three months old. As we grew up, life was very difficult but in my culture children help their parents so through collective effort, hard work and perseverance we toiled to meet our day today needs and pay for our education. This struggle pushed all of my siblings into early independence including myself. I started by looking after domestic chicken at our kitchen farm and grew an interest in the birds, that's when I started a business out of the interest. I do this and put my best foot forward to ensure i provide for my son and that his future becomes certain

My Business

I currently have 100 Layer birds that I keep. On average I collect 80 eggs daily which i sell to raise feeds and spare a little saving for meeting other expenses like veterinary services and for my subsistence. This business is good, and it has good returns due to high demand for eggs because eggs are affordable to most low income earners who consume it for its rich protein content

Loan Proposal

I intend to purchase a solar lighting system costing USD 120. This will help a great deal in improving security of the farm and stop thieves from sneaking to steal eggs in the dark. This will improve my egg count and at the same time I will help the neighbors by charging their phones and share the solar touch. With an improved egg collection, I foresee a collection of averagely 95 eggs daily. Currently eggs retail at KES 12, giving me an average of KES 1140 (USD 15) daily.
