About Me

I am a mother of three . Two boys and one Girl. I was raised in ASAL areas of Kenya where rain was not regular hence used to grow Sorghum which are drought resistant.

Sorghum apart from being delicious in preparation of ugali a stable food in Kenya is also used in beer industry.

My Business

My business entails farming Sorghum. Sorghum requires little rainfall especially during planting and also during flowering. My income will generally come from sell of millet and the millet stalks to farmers. An acre of land needs around 30,000 Kenya Shilling towards plouging, harrowing and harvesting costs. Am currently looking at expansion hence the need to join Zidisha and secure funding for future expansion. My aim is farm upto 5 acres of sorgum and with an average of 10 bags per acre get close to 50bags and with prices going for atleast Ksh 4000 get a trunover of Ksh 200,000 per year.

Loan Proposal

The loan will be used to expand the farming to more acres and this will go along way in ensuring I get necessary working capital by taking more loans in future.
