I'm Abigail Mensah. I am 24 years old and a Ghanaian.
I live in Obuasi, West Bogobiri at home number Bw80 / A. Iam in sowing and selling laptop bags. I started this business because after graduating from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in English, I could not get to work for me. I decided to improve my skill in sowing bags to earn a living and also to support my family. I currently have a younger brother also at college and my little sister is in college. My parents are alive and support us.
I am in the sowing and selling of laptop bags. I started the company after an unsuccessful search for jobs. I started the business with an amount of money borrowed from a friend. My aunt lent me her seed drill to use. The company is progressing now, but at a slow pace, because a single machine slows down the pace of productivity. I need this money to buy other machines that will help speed up the production rate. The proceeds from the sale of the bags will be used to pay the loan.
I will buy necessary materials that are needed for the sowing of the bags like clothes zips. and all other artifacts that are necessary for the production to take place. Currently, i use my elder sisters manual machine to do the sowing. With the money, i will also purchase a sowing machine for personal use. As the business progresses i will see to its expansion and also train others who are interested in learning the trade.
