My name is Martin Kimani Mwangi. I was born outside wedlock and really faced childhood destitution. I went through my primary education in abject poverty; mainly at the mercies of my community members. By the grace of God, and owing to my efforts at the primary level exams, I got a sponsorship from Save the Children UK through Starehe Boys Center Field Office. Due to extreme poverty I was mainly in-and-out of school, sometimes even lacking the basics to sustain me in school. After school I worked as a Volunteer Children Officer in my area district where I vigorously advocated for the rights of the children. I am now an adult Kenyan, working as a community Digital literacy trainer. I have been in this program since 2011, having trained in various rural counties in Kenya. I have a mobile computer lab that's fully equipped. The program is an initiative dubbed PASHA.
I provide email services, social media and eGovernment services and bureau services such as photocopying, scanning, document printing and binding, digital photography services, selling stationery. i have also been offering basic ICT skills training to adult learners especially covering the remote rural areas. The trainees pay affordable facilitation fee which mainly sustains the program. The trainings are usually monthly or weekly depending on the clientele. The revenue earned is usually used for the maintenace of the computer lab, besides reinvestment and family upkeep including my children education and also to cater for internet connectivity.
Hello my lenders. I humbly borrow 51USD to assist me to purchase Stationary worth 17USD, printer ink valued at 27USD, and photo papers worth 4USD, all will amount to 49USD. The rest will be used for transport. This loan will immensely boost mt training initiative since some of the trainees are from very humble background and only afford to pay little by little. I humbly apeal that I be assisted to be able to offer the community computer training effectively and efficiently so as to enable my objective of crossing the digital divide.
