About Me

My name is Mary Mulupi a third born in a family of five siblings . i had two elder brothers and two young sisters .We were all raised up in Matioli village butali Location ,Kakamega District Kenya.
I am a born again christian who loves studying the word of God ,The bible in my free time . i love singing and this has made me to be a very active choir member in my church .
I came from a very humble background as my father did not have a permanent employment ,depended mainly on casual works within the neighborhood which could not sustain the needs of our family well. However my mother on the other hand could not sustain the needs of our family well. However my mother on the other hand had a moderate income in cereal business ,selling beans, maize tomatoes, Bananas ,Avocado,Pawpaws and mangoes in the neighborhood.
Sometimes mother used to make me work with her in her business during school holidays .This made me to know how to sell to customers at a very tender age and this came to help me when bad luck stuck and my mother died.life became very difficult for us and my other brothers got sponsorship from a well wisher who offered to pay for them school fees.
In our ancestral land all the boy and girl are given equal opportunity to go to school but wen resources are not enough priority is given to boy child no wonder my other two siblings got help from well wisher who opted to educate them. since i had no one to take me to school i was forced to drop out in form two.

My Business

After i left school i had to do something for a living and what i had started doing with my mother selling of maize beans and fruits got in my mind very first.I knew where and how to sell them at what profit .I knew what it takes to do this kind of business so i started doing it where my mother left us.
My Aunt who lives in Nakuru visited home and saw i was fairing on well and told me that this business would have more profit if i relocated and do it in
Nakuru.
i then relocated to Nakuru and surely i found more business here because the population here is higher than that of home.i then started the business of selling fruits like bananas mangoes,Pawpaws Mangoes .Here there are other avenues of selling cereals and fruits in schoolchild hospitals. This business is good for me because i know the source of getting them and whom to sell and at what profit. This business know helps me to survive and even to help me take care of my two younger sister siblings.I also have one child whom i intend to school up to university.

Loan Proposal

I would be very very thankful to receive a loan from Zidisha organization. I intend to enlarge my business by buying enough stock in whole sale as follows 2 crates of tomatoes at approx 30 usd, one bunch of Bananas at approx 10 usd, and vegetables at approx 10 usd. All these will cost me approx 50 usd. The benefit of this loan is that it will enable me to get a variety of vegetables hence plenty of supply to my customers which will give me a profit of about 1usd per week. it will help me to buy stock in wholesale .This will help me pay school fees for my one child and the other two siblings of mine, and I will be able to take them to good schools. I am looking forward in future to new contracts of supplying vegetables to institutions like schools and hospitals with fresh products.
