I am from kitui county in kenya. I went to Bishop Dunn primary school where i finished my eight years of study and went to Kasakini secondary day school. My favorite subject was mathematics and home science. I loved to cook, do broidery and learn how to take care of the house. I completed secondary school with good grades but i was not admitted to the university because my mother who raised me as a single mother did not have the money. I felt very bad but there was nothing i could do. We could not depend in the CDF funds and bursary because of the high level of corruption. I therefore helped my mother to sell fruits and vegetables in her grocery shop. The unique thing in our land is that it is very dry but most fruits do well. We have very many kinds of fruits. My hobby is singing and dancing. I sing while i do work and time passes easily.
We offer good quality fruits of all kinds. We also offer vegetables and seasonings. The goods we have include tomatoes, onions, pepper, all kinds of fruits and carrots. These are very important to the community because it is food. They need food for the normal functioning of their bodies. Fruits and vegetables are vitamins which are useful in body protection. I chose to do this business because my mother was doing it and i went to help her. I love dealing with food especially nutritious ones such as the fruits. I did not have money to do any other thing and i could not just stay at home idle so i did the grocery business and i fitted in well and i got to learn the rules. In a day we get around 10 us dollars to 14 us dollars. We use the money to pay for rent, bring in another stock for the next day, use for our private needs and we save the rest of the money.
I am Humbled ones again for the opportunity granted to write to you. Given this new loan i will invest the money into Purchasing new stock of fruits from farmers, make some construction where i am positioned.
The total expenditure will be 65 us dollars for the stock of fruits and 70 us dollars for buying the timbers and some construction materials. I will thus add some money to the granted loan to fuel this exercise.
I expect my profits to increase and also improve economically because with this new variety of fruits i can be able to get my customers well satisfied and thus increase my income. I see my profits grow by 30 us dollars a day.
