About Me

My name is Damaris Gathoni Wanjiro from kiambu county in the outskirts of Nairobi. I was born in a family of 8 and I am the third born daughter, I went to school up to secondary school and did not proceed to college due to lack of fees.
Due to finance issues I was unable to raise money for my upkeep and therefore that is when I started working as a sales lady for a second hand cloths shop. I always had a dream of owning my own business and after working for six months armed with $50 savings , I started my own second hand cloths business.
The business picked up well but due to financial constraints and family needs I am always left with very little for expansion.
I come from the Gikuyu community in central Kenya we are reach of culture and the most outstanding is our community traditional dance, we also serve nice and delicious traditional African dishes.
During my free time I like singing and dancing. I am also a social worker and in my free times I attend to children and elderly in there nearby hospital.

My Business

My business entails retail of second hands cloths and shoes . I always do my business in Ruaka Town off Nairobi city towards Kiambu. I sell to my clients affordable second hand cloths.
My target clients are the low income earners, so I always sell them what they can afford. I source my merchandise from Nairobi city . The demand for my cloths is always high because I sell quality products at affordable rates.
In a month my revenues are $250 and my expenses are about $120 so in a month I make profits of $130 .I spend the money on saving for my college fees ,paying fees for my siblings and general family expenses.
