About Me

MY names are James Waithaka,am married with 4 kids.Two sons and two daughters both in high school.I live in Nakuru county.Am a FARMER specialising in planting strawberries.Have planted 5 ACRES of them and have been in this business for the last 4 years.Am a graduate,a holder of degree in Agricultural production.my interest in farming started early in life as a kid having come from Farming background.Basically my earnings are good since this kind of farming venture has not been popular in Kenya.However i do enjoy good returns from this farming as my clients includes super markets, processing factories,Hotels industries and also i do retailing.The proceeds i get from my farming goes to educating my kids,and also meeting other family, projects obligations.Am grateful because through zidisha i will be able to accelerate my farming activities.

My Business

As i have stated earlier my monthly earnings from this farming is goes at around 40000-70,000ksh,That is net.The demands for strawberries are high as in its not a common enterprise among a many farmers.Though risks are not enormous am able to come up with counteractive measures to minimize risks involved. MY customers are elated to have my products raw than processed ones because they are easy to come by.Through zidisha am sure to meet the high demand rates for the market.As i remain hopeful to this zidisha chance, my dream and hope is that i will be able to expand my business and also increase the workforce as well as take my venture to a fulfilling profitable plane.

Loan Proposal

Firstly i want to thank the entire zidisha team for granting me chance to realize the dream for my farming project that has been part of my passion for years now. Am humbled to say that this loan will greatly boost my strawberry farming business as well as buying of fertilizers which has been a challenge due to the high cost of the prices.This loan will also reinforce my venture in expanding the untilled land hence increasing my capacity to meeting customers demand.Labor force as a factor of production will be factored in this loan since the expansion of the land for more strawberry farming means increased labor.May i also appreciate once more the zidisha team for making a large segment of less privileged to benefit from such a noble micro finance concept.Thank you
