From the life living in slums to a life filled with poverty, tragedies of losing loved ones is my story. If life didn't take a different turn right after my medical school, I would be probably singing the same song.
My name is Japheth Sang. I went to school at Union Primary School, and later Uasin Gishu Secondary School. I never knew my parents; I grew up in an orphanage, after spending the early years of my life in the streets. I met this preacher, who I will never forget, and he took me to an orphanage that I have known to be my first home to date. Many years later I run a clinic of my own and I am very grateful to everyone who has been part of my life and supported me in one way or another.
The land I live in is full of food, and people are friendly. I have a wife and two kids: the eldest says she also wants to be a doctor like me, the other is yet to start talking. I love watching motivational talks.
I basically provide medical attention to the sick around my community. I offer mainly outpatient services, and also minor surgeries. My services are useful since I provide treatment to the sick. I chose this, since I love offering solutions. My major costs are the costs of renting the premises where my clinic is situated and the costs related with purchasing medical supplies. I make close to 35,000 KES ($347) every month. I dedicate 50% to supporting other orphans, and the rest to reinvest back into the clinic by purchasing medical supplies.
I will buy HIV testing kits for my clinic, since I have lots of people coming in and demanding for the test. I will be able to satisfy the needs of my patients. 70 pieces of the kits will cost $100 and I will charge only 100 kes ($1) for a test. My turnover will increase by 5%. Thank you as you plan to fund this project.
