My name is Cherotich Mercy. I am the second born in a family of five. I grew up in a village called ndanai, bomet county. This is a village where young girls could be circumsised and get married at there younger age. I thank God for my mother who liked education alot and she used to talk to us about how life is all about. Life was so hard but i overcame it by being patient at all times. I cleared my secondary level and joinKabarak University where i persue Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting option. I like business alot and i started by selling shoes to my friends. After i cleared my degree i started supplying stakes to the tea factories at home. What i like about myself is that i dont give up even if the situations are unbearable. Am working hard so as to enable my children to live a better life and also to help needy and capable students in my village.
I supply stakes to kobel tea factory at bomet county. They are in high demand in the factory because the factory will never stop manufacturing tea leaves. i chose this kind of business because its probability to run at a loss is very low. Sometimes when there is alot of rain i spend more on transport costs but its not a big problem to me as such. Part of my profit goes to my church development, expand my business and help my siblings pay part of their school fees.
I will be buying trees in the village and cut them down to produce stakes ( factory firewood). Each tree cost $8 - $10 which can produce upto ten stakes each costing $18 giving me a profit of $6 after lessing expenses. The business have helped me pay my siblings school fees and attends neighbor's fund raising.
