  to be funded by lenders... Once your loan has been funded
  and you confirm acceptance, ... The disbursement may take
  anywhere from a few seconds to a few days to reach your
  account, depending on the type of payment service used
  (mobile-money payments are generally quicker than
  bank transfers). As we are not always able to guarantee
  immediate disbursement, we do not recommend using
  Zidisha for time-sensitive emergency loans."

Tabitha, please be aware:

The reason there are multiple fees now, and the reason why in combination the fees are so high--(which did not used to be the case on this platform; there did not used to be a credit-risk fee at all, in the past)--is because too many borrowers have defaulted. In order for Zidisha to be able to pay back the lenders at least *some* of the amounts that default--(not enough is collected in fees to pay lenders back *all* of the defaulted amounts)--the membership fee and the credit-risk fee go into a special account for that purpose. It's important for lenders to get paid back, because most lenders here are not rich people and depend on receiving re-lending funds in order to help fund loans for more projects in the future. (The 5% Service Fee is kept by Zidisha for its operational expenses, such as money-transfer costs charged by the money-transfer partners in borrowers' countries; salary for the Director; independent-contractor fee for the CTO; web-hosting costs; and other expenses for running the platform.)

The best chances for fees to be reduced in number and amount in the future is for all borrowers to fulfill the obligation they entered into when they clicked to accept the terms of the loan. No borrower ever should agree to terms with which he or she does not agree. If you want to cancel your current loan request, please click on the HELP link in your account and look for a help topic with a text-box available to type a private message to the Staff.

  Lenders cannot assist with anything administrative. Like borrowers, we merely create an account on the platform (in our case, to upload funds to help borrowers, which the Zidisha Team Staff then manages).
  
  Currently the Zidisha Team Staff consists of just two (2) people: www.zidisha.org/team. They are the intermediary between the borrowers and the lenders, and only they can help you with anything administrative.
