About Me

Hi, l trust your well. Am called Dennis Mwangi but most of my friends call me Malcom. I was born and raised in Nairobi, more so in an estate called Buruburu in the eastlands of town. I finished primary school and passed really well that l have to admit and later l was admitted to Nyeri High school. I finished my high school with a very good grade and was selected to further my studies at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology to pursue Bachelor of commerce. Which l did and thats where l harnessed the passion for agribusiness.

My Business

From campus l developed a passion for agriculture and youth empowerment. I look at my peers here wallowing in drinking sprees, smoking and doing drugs and it pains me because there no jobs. So what l usually do is talk to them after much lobbying and days of them playing hide and seek. We sit down discuss and agree to do poultry business together. Whereby l bring in the capital and markets as they bring in a small area we can do this and management.

Having been taught a journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step. I have tried and got 2 guys on board who have a piece of land. We have reared a 100 broilers, where a kg goes for $3 and usually they reach 1.5kgs - 2kgs.

I will use the amount to feed the broilers for next one to weeks at $30. While the remaining $20 will be used to prepare, package and transport the broilers.

After this we'll reinvest the amount to increase our fold. It takes 8-10wks for a broiler to reach 1.5kgs - 2.0kgs.

Loan Proposal

My loan will be used as l said earlier to buy feeds, prepare the broilers, packaging them in clean polythene bags and transporting to the market.

- A 50kg bag of finishers mash from unga will me about $30.
But since their 1.2kgs so l need a week to make them reach 1.5kgs or more. So l can sell them at $4.5
- The wrapping polythene paperbag usually costs 0.1 usd x 100 = 10usd
- Hiring a taxi to carrying the stock to the market place is usually 10usd
