I am the third born in a family of 9 children . I grew up in a village with a lot of hardship, the schools were far away and I walked long distances to and from school with with my siblings.
Upon completing school I had no fees to join higher learning institution,I decided to embark on vegetable farming and grew vegetables that I sold to a school and the community. the demand for the vegetables was high and I have been slowly expanding my farm.
Our land is hilly and we receive adequate rainfall for planting crops and however most youth do not engage in farming .
I love trees and I plant trees as a hobby, I also participate in tree planting campaigns to help save the environment.
I provide high quality and clean vegetables such as kale and traditional African vegetables to my customers.
the demand for the vegetable has grown because there are cheaper and most people do not engaging in vegetable growing business.
I choose these business because it is easy to run and the profits are good.
I spend $100 on manure and farm maintenance per month and my earnings from the farm per month are $300 per month.
I use the profit from the farm for home improvement, children education and catering for basic needs for the family.
I would use the money to top up my savings so as to construct a temporary green house .The green house will help me produce healthy quality crops in adverse weather and during scarcity hence enhance my productivity and income.Thank you in advance,
