About Me

Am called Obed Njumwa,aim a resident of live in Mtwapa Mtomondoni in kilifi county within the republic of Kenya.This is located in north coast of Kenya.It is a busy area with several businesses within here mtwapa is a cosmopolitan town with several people living there.Am married with five children who are all in schools and all are in different classes within mtwapa town.i have three boys and two girls.my main occupation is poultry keeping within mtwapa mtomondoni area.i keep both local layers and broilers for business.i sell them to hotels like georgias hotel,club causurina,club lambada,seafront hotels in mombasa and other areas.i went to mtomondoni primary school in the year 1987,then i went to kinango secondary in the year 1992.i then worked with various hotels within coast in Kenya.i started this business in order to help my self and my family especially my children to go to better schools.I also started this because of the high population within mtwapa since its about to become a model town in Kenya.i will use the earnings to add more stock and expand my business to be able to attract more people and help my family with basic needs.

My Business

My main occupation is poultry keeping within mtwapa mtomondoni area.i keep both local layers and broilers for business.i sell them to hotels like Georgias hotel,club causurina,club lambada,seafront hotels in mombasa and other areas.I also supply both meat and eggs to the hotels above.these are the two sources of income for myself as at now,Demand for these goods is so high due to high population within mtwapa and more so with the numerous tourists hotels within mtwapa town.demand is high due to most of mtwapa town has so many hotels and bars where these local chicken are a local delicacy.we also have small scale business men and civil servants who have low income and hence able to attract them.my customers prefer here because i sell fresh goods and services and too my level of hygiene is so high for that case therefore able to make more cash as a result of more customers.competition is minimal therefore i have set my standards very high through cleanliness and reasonable prices that is able to attract customers.my business is profitable because i sell substance items that are used by the society on daily basis.my monthly gross profit is Kenya shillings 47,000.expenses is Kenya shillings 25,000.The balance of Kenya shillings 22,000 can be used to pay my lenders and also expand my business.

Loan Proposal

Thank you all of the zidisha members for making this happen am so proud of you. with this first loan from this organization i will use it wisely to expand my poultry business by buying more chicks and put them in poultry so that i can have more chickens that in few weeks i will be able to sell them and get more income.
