About Me

My names is Joel Obura Obunga.I was born in the year 1988,in Rachuonyo District.I am a father of one daughter by the name Maureen, and a husband to Jane Akinyi.I started going to school in the year 1995-2003,where i finished my primary education.I did not perform as per my family's expectations in the final examinations. This led me not to continue with my secondary school education due to poor results. That is when my parents decided to take me to a polytechnic for a course in carpentry. After the course i moved to Nairobi to look for a job.I was lucky since my uncle was living in Nairobi,so it was easy for me to have a place to go and live together.
I got a job although it was on commission basis in Umoja Estate for a carpentry shop.I was expert in structuring new fashionable couches, coffee tables,wall-units among other items.I thank God that i got some money from these job which lasted for almost three years. In the year 2009,I opened a small grocery shop in Kayole Estate with the money i got from my previous commission work and the soft loan i was given by my uncle.I was really determined to own a business,of which i made it and run it upto date.

My Business

My business deals with selling groceries.I started this business in the year 2009.I started selling small things like, vegetables cooking oil, sugar, bread, candy among other stuffs.I opened my business after getting so many disappointments wherever i was previously working.I thank God because since i opened my shop He(God) Had provided me with potential and reliable customers.i have already improvised my shop, which means that, through the Zidisha loan i can add more stocks to improve and increase my sales.
My business sometimes faces some challenge which includes selling at higher prices compared to my other competitors. They sell at a cheaper prices because they buy the goods in bulky, leading to cheaper prices.
Through the Zidisha loan,i will be able to buy goods in large quantity and in bulky, which translates fair prices to my customers.I believe through this i will earn more potential customers and more profits, which i will manage to be paying back my monthly installments on time and without fail. Thanks Zidisha organization for considering small businesses like mine.God bless Zidisha.

Loan Proposal

Thank you so much all the zidisha team for the past two loans. For sure my Grocery shop will never be the same again.
Now through this loan,i am planning to buy the fast moving goods which will enable my shop to have plenty of cash flows and attracts more new customers. Also i will buy more bulky charcoal to enable serve my customers with efficiency,as we are approaching this festive season which will start this December.Thank you all and i welcome all the bidders/lenders to fund my loan.
