About Me

am Emily wandera am a lastborn in the family. I and other siblings are supported by a single mother. I was born and grew up and live in Busia town. I schooled at Nangina girls high school .
while I was in school I took business studies as my optional subject it moved to create my own business to help me and my mother to keep life going from the small pocket money had saved plus the support from my mother I started these while I was in form 4.
I started the business with ksh.10,000 which I started t with buying trousers from the border for one year after form four I had enough time to move to Kampala after realizing its cheaper to get stock from their .after some time I was able to raise to thirty thousand I was able to get a chance to get some more cloth in variety .
Currently I have a stock worth 40,000 which is so impressive to me which has give the hopes of getting these loan to so as to increase my stock .
After two years on the business I was able to get a shop in town which has attracted many customers because is situated at the middle of town where many people pass to Uganda and in Kenya .
I started the business so as to create job opportunity after school and to be able support my two daughters.

My Business

I Am a clearing and forwarding agent at the Busia border with aero marine company .apart from that I buy and sell cloths from Kampala Uganda to Kenya Busia town. my office located at the border on the stall market (soko mawe) at busia border next to the fist gate on your way to Uganda. business is purely a sole proprietor of which i started with the capital from my savings

I sell trousers ,shoes ,hand bags, handkerchiefs ,under wares, ladies tops..The demand is high the fact that Busia is situated in Kenya Uganda border so most of my customers are those who want to cross the border especially those who clear the vehicles and these their people who works here in town.

My business is profitable because i have so many customers so the more i serve the more i earn. The challenge am facing is just lack of capital to expand my business the demand is high than I have .

My monthly usage is as follows KES 2,400 transport ,KES 20,000 for the stock for other expencesses.profit ranges from KES 10000-15000 per month. The loan i will used to modify my business and its the business that will repay the loan. And with these I will be able to support myself and my daughters with less stress.
