About Me

My names are Hellen Ndinda Mandi. I was born in 1967 in Taita Taveta Vounty, the coastal part of Kenya. I am a Kamba by tribe, I am honest, competent and hardworking. I come from a very humble background. I reside in Mtwapa – Kilifi County. I am a born again Christian. I have three children and am married. I am a business woman and that’s what I use to fend for my three children. My first born is in form four, followed by form one and lastly class four. The reason why I started this business was to look for something that would make move on rather than being a housewife. The earnings I get most of the time go to food and stock to keep my business going.

My Business

As a businesswoman, I normally sell home basic needs like, kales, tomatoes, onions, garlic, spices, cereals, potatoes, cabbages, fruits. Yes I have clients who must purchase the above aforementioned items. Especially the cereals and vegetables as they foods which must be eaten. My customers prefer my business because I normally sell my items at a cheaper rate unlike supermarkets and other points. The business is profitable because I have so many clients as I sell compulsory needs. Actually I have minimal risks as I have no problems with the authorities such as the County Council as I already acquired a license.
On a good day I normally produce 1,200/= so that adds upto 36,000/= per month.
Total expenditure per month is 21,000/- that is school fees, electricity, food, stock and rent. So my monthly profit is 11,000/=

Loan Proposal

Thank you so much Zidisha Fraternity for my loan approval. I was really praying for that approval. First and fore most I will be working on adding stock to my business. I want to purchase cereals that is Beans, rice, wheat, maize flour and peas because the stock had reduced. Being a Zidisha member I know I will succeed because as part of my plans I am working on repaying this first loan very fast once I get it and will be working on getting a second one. That will be used to widen my business as I am planning to open another cereals shop and a place to sell the home basic things as stated on my profile about my business.
