My name is Peter Ekisa. Am 27 year old. Am married to Mariam with three children (Lucky, Leonard, and Lucy). I live in Majengo - Barani. it's on along Mombasa - Malindi highway. It's about 20 Km to 30Km from Mombasa city. When you reach Majengo town you drop at a stage called Kanamai. The you take the road going down to the beach after about 1.5Km you'll see a school (Barani Primary School. After the school there's a small homestead of five houses. Our house is made up of brinks and the walls are in roughcast style. It has old ironsheets (mabati). I started this business because the salary i was getting was not enough to sastfy my family need and wants. I thank God coz the business has prvide evrything for my family and i have expand it (i only started with only one straight sewing machine but now i have three).
I run a toiloring shop, whereby i make clothes of all kind and sell them and also repairing clothes. Most people here dont prefer buying ready made clothes because they are very expensive compared to the ones we make for them and also the customer choose the design he/she likes. In another hand i have many customer because i have the experience than the other tailors. I used to work in a Chinis clothing company before for a period of five years. In a month i get about Ksh 56000. I pay rent and electricity Ksh 4500. I buy monthly stock Ksh 17000. I use Ksh 16000 on my family needs and wants monthly. I save about Ksh 18500 monthly.
Thanks so much Zidisha and lenders for putting your trust in me. My business is really doing good and you're part of my business success. I want to buy more sewing machines to start a tailoring academy. Most girls in the area did not manage to finish secondary education and they need skills in their lives. I think tailoring is one of the best skills. thank you so much and God bless you all.
