About Me

MY BACKGROUND:
I am Haggai Opolo from Teso North District,Busia county-Kenya.Went to Aboloi Primary School for my elementary education, proceeded to Bishop Atundo high School Kimaeti from form one to two but lacked school fees to further my secondary education. The above situation forced me to drop out of school for many years. Later I decided to sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams as a private candidate and did fairly well. Because of the growing unemployment rate currently experienced in Kenya, I decided to start up a small shop for selling clothing, shoes etc todate.

My Business

MY BUSINESS BACKGROUND
I started my small business of selling clothes in the year 2010 with net capital of 2,500 Kshs (Appxmtly 30 US dollars).My previous enrolment at the local youth polytechnic for entrepreneurial short course gave me the head start which proved handy while venturing into business world. Sor far the business has expanded to a total capital base of around 30, 000 Kshs (375 US dollars) I inted to use the facility from Zidisha to possibly open another shop for selling belts and material for making school uniforms which I have secured a tender so far from one of the local schools.

Loan Proposal

Thanks to the zidisha team and the international lenders for the initiative and platform of enabling potential entrepreneurs across the globe start business and grow.I intend to use the facility from zidisha in setting up one more shop for selling school uniform materials. The same shop will also be selling belts,socks etc.I intend to use some of the savings from my current shop to top up to what zidisha will fund as capital.Since I have already secured a tender from one of the local schools to supply school uniforms from January next year, i hope by then my new shop will have established to even attract more tenders from other neighboring schools and other institutions.
