About Me

my names are kitti sundell born raised up in kilifi town.married and blessed with one kid aged one year named earl chigiri. i am a graduate diploma holder in IT field majoring in database management and computer programming curently i am not attached to any organisation but on and off i do work with world vision Kenya Kilifi PPRO and Bamba IPA programme sorting their databases on contractual basis. i also work freelance, privately for other individuals am an all rounder person when it comes to work

My Business

My business is of selling kienyeji chickens these are the local breed chikens.the reason to why i choose this kind of business is that apart from being passionate about chicken farming is that they are of great demand for their meat and because they people nowdays have are health conscious when it comes to diet.these chicken are easy to rear and as mostly they do forage by themselves when it comes to feeding they do not consume lots of feed compared to the exotic breeds. i will be buying chickes which have been weened off from there mothers at price ranging on 70 to 150 on the higher side side then feed them in an enclosed area and sell them at a range of 500 to 700 shilling depending on the size of the hen or cock that is after 3 to 4 months.the challenges that i will be facing for this business venture is diseases like Newcastle but we have vaccine which is readily available and pocket friendly unlike past which it was expensive and out of reach from many farmers thats is the major challenge which i know i must overcome and have already fenced the area where they are going to forage so as not to get in contact with other chickens outside its a precautionary measure of avoiding spread of diseases which might affect my stocks.

Loan Proposal

the amount of money am going to get as a loan will be used in the expansion of my poultry business where by i do rear local breed chickens which are popular and its market base is big with soaring demand which we cant meet by building more bandas for my chicken and addition of stocks.it has a huge potential as a source of livelihood and one's economic empowerment as it has not been fully exploited where i come from hence i need the loan to expand and tap in in.
