About Me

Am a male age 26-years, I live at Githima Estate in Nakuru County of Kenya,I completed my studies at Kenya Institute of management (Nakuru Branch) in June 2010 where I pursued a a certificate in Business Management.When I completed my studies i stated looking for employment and after one year and two months of tarmacking and not getting a job,I was encouraged and advised by my pastor to employ myself by starting a small business.That is when I conducted a feasibility study in my area and I started a Saloon and beauty service business.

With the earnings that I gained from the business,half of it I re-invested and the other half i spent for my basic needs and taking care of my siblings.

I have been having a plan to expand my business as i have been facing with a challenge of purchasing enough cosmetic products,stock,equipments and extending the Space to cater for the growing number of clients who have been having no option but to seek services to my competitors due to the above limitations.

With assistance of a loan,I will be able to purchase enough cosmetic products,equipments for the services and extend the space for the business and thereby satisfy my Clients effectively and efficiently, this will in turn increase the net profit and thereby improve my standard of living in addition to assisting my siblings.

My Business

The business offers beauty services and products. They include all types of Hairdressing,Barbering,manicure,pedicure,Beauty therapy and sell of Body creams,soaps weave and detergents.

The business is strategically located in Nakuru Town Suburb area which is metropolitan zone. Bearing in mind that beauty is neither selective nor biased in terms of gender,age,financial capability and physical ability hence people naturally like to look beautiful. The population target are residents of the surrounding town,tourist visiting Lake Nakuru national park and college students. All those factors creates demand for the business.

The business is profitable as is driven by excellent services and good location. it offers fine service, quality products and comfortable atmosphere. This sometimes has made most of my clients to come back for the services and products and also attracting new customers.

The business faces various risks including:
-lack of enough stock and limited space to cater for the large number of clients. This has made some of my clients to seek services to my competitors.
-lack of enough equipments to perform services e.g The business has only one dryer and hair dryer,thereby caters for few clients a day hence reducing net sales revenues.
