    Dear lenders,

It's been a long year of follow ups with Ms. Thoya. As of today, she's been in arrears for 11 months minus 10 days. During this time, we've had at least 11 people involved in following up with her, between Volunteer Mentors, Zidisha Volunteers, our former Client Relationship Manager in Kenya, and Julia herself, myself also included. As you can see from my comments in past months, earlier on our follow up attempts at least rendered some information. Over the course of this year, Joyce has become more and more difficult to reach.
We are aware of the fact that Joyce spent a significant amount of time ill and at at the hospital, and informed you of this fact upon coming across it. She provided several exact dates in which she would resume her payments, failing to meet each one of them.
Our Volunteer Mentors even went above and beyond their duty and visited her business location in person (something they are not required to do, as we do not cover transportation costs), only to not find Joyce at her business. Her additional contacts were equally difficult to reach over the course of all these months.
The email notifications you've received on this matter contain more information about our next steps. If you still have additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
We look forward to continue working with you.

    Sincerely,

    Analin Saturria McGregor
    Country Liaison Manager
    Zidisha.

    Dear Zidisha Staff,

can you try to make contact to Ms. Thoya and inform us about what is going on? I do not really care that much about the loan principle, but an update would be nice nevertheless.

    Regards

    Dear lenders,
This is Analin Saturria McGregor, Communications Associate at Zidisha.
We've been informed today that Joyce's health woes have continued during March. She spent several weeks admitted to the Kilifi hospital. She has been released since and is back at work. Her business has been closed for the majority of March. Ms. Thoya expects to resume her payments as soon as possible now that she is back in business.

    Dear lenders,

Zidisha volunteer and fellow borrower Mr Cosmas Kenga paid a visit to Ms. Thoya this weekend. He found her ill and unable to get out of bed, and this is why she has missed her January and February payments. Ms. Thoya intends to catch up as soon as possible once she has recovered.

    Best regards,

    Julia Kurnia
    Director, Zidisha
