About Me

I was born in Nakuru District and schooled here from primary to secondary school. After school, I was married and I have two lovely children who are all in school.

Currently, am running a salon business in Nakuru town, and also I complement it with cosmetics and women wares. I overcame this challenge of poverty through a mentorship program I went through, and I realized how important self-employment is to one's life. Through this mentorship program, we were taught how to start a business through SYB ( Start Your own Business) and, through these skills, I was able to get a small loan of Kshs. 10,000 to start a small salon business.

The unique thing about where I live is the social cohesiveness among neighbors, and this has really worked well and peace has really prevailed. My children want to follow my footsteps of self-employment. I like reading entrepreneurial materials that keeps me abreast with current business trends.

My Business

I supply cosmetics of all designs, women's and children's wears. I also do salon business. These goods and services are in demand due to the love women have towards themselves. Women follow fashions and I have found this to be interesting and fascinating. The demand is big and it's what I know best out of the skills I have developed for over ten years now.

My typical costs ranges from 10,000 and revenue far exceeds revenue outlay. On average, when business is not doing very well, at least I have something like Kshs. 7,000 for savings. First and foremost, for any business to do well, one has to pay himself/herself salary. So I pay myself a basic salary that caters for school fees, home improvements and the rest as savings goes to reinvestment in growing the business. Lastly, I prefer buying cash than going on debts. This has really helped me to propel the wheel.

Loan Proposal

I would like to purchase assorted cosmetics for sale in my salon. This will cost me Kshs. 7916. This will add enough stock especially on the items that are on demand and therefore i will be able to meet the demands and needs of my clients and resultantly more revenue and income. At the personal level, my life will greatly improve as well as at the family and business level.
