About Me

I am Betty, and most of my childhood has been in Nakuru. I went to school in Nakuru, both primary and secondary and even college. After school is when I started my cyber business.

My life has been a nice one, and I have always overcome hardship through positive thinking, reading the religious books, and reading motivational materials. That is what motivates me and helps me to focus on the important goals in life.

I started the business through savings from my previous employments and, being that they were cyber-related, it gave me the idea of having a business of my own. With Zidisha, I know the sky is the limit.

I stay in Nakuru, which is a cosmopolitan town and, as such, there are various cultures that meet. Here, people are attached to land and share in cultures, as there is diversity propagated in this area.

I would like my children to be doctors or be in medical careers, as this will help in the saving of lives, and they will also earn well, as being a doctor in Kenya is a highly-rated profession.

In my free time, I do a lot of reading and swimming and those two help me relax well.

My Business

I operate a cyber cafe and also do photocopy. This is a business that is profitable, as there are colleges in town and, as such, students do photocopy at my shop and also browse their assignments. The place is busy, hence profitable to me.

I chose this kind of business because I did my IT course when in college and, having worked in a cyber before, it was training on the job for me, and the saving that I did has given me a business now.

I usually make between $120 to $150. This helps me to pay for my bills and take my kid to school. The living standard in Nakuru is high, and as such the profits from this business help me to meet my commitments. The rest I invest in the different items that I require in the cyber.

Loan Proposal

Thanks, Zidisha, for this opportunity to access loans that help us improve on our business and our lives. When l get the Zidisha loan, I will be able to buy a colour printer. This will cost me $100. This will help in the cyber, as most of the things printed from the net by the students require a colour printer. This will be good for the business, as each print brings money. My profits will double as compared to black and white printer I currently use.
