About Me
I am 32 years old and a mother of 3 children- a girl and 2 boys. i am the third born in a family of six. i attended school up to form two but had to drop out due to school fees issues. my father had just been retrenched. i attended some hair dressing classes with the help of my uncle but again didn't finish the course. i started working in a salon of my friend and by 2003 i got married. from then i have been doing small businesses like selling clothes, shoes, and even vegetables. but from year 2009 i started shoes business which i am in to date.
i love my children and their father. i would like to educate them up to university level so that they become better people in the society.
My Business
i am dealing with second hand shoes which i sell to people who sell to places like estates, town etc. they are in demand since the prices and quality are better compared to the new shoes. i chose this business for some reasons; one that the time of operation is from 6am to around noon. this gives me time to get home early enough to be with my children. two it a cash business. my customer always come with cash to purchase. no credit.three profit margins are good though sometimes i incur losses depending on the quality of the shoes.
the costs vary from 4500/- shillings to even15000/-. this costs depend on the qualityof the shoes.
i use my profits in buying clothes for my children, buying food and investing in other areas for the future of my children. also i use the same to boost my business.
Loan Proposal
since my last loan, my clients have increased demand hence the need to get more stocks. i now have markets outside Nairobi city. i am looking to get approximately $400 to increase my stock of shoes. this will grow my profit by about 35%. with adequate supply especially to the new market outside nairobi, i expect to even get more clients from more markets. i am targeting the rural markets whereby locals will get quality shoes at a good cost.
