About Me

My name is Enock Dartey. I live in Berekum, an area in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. My house number is KYB 101. I am 26years of age. My parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gyaase. I grew up with three siblings. I completed primary school and continue to have Senior Secondary School Certificate respectfully. I have also graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon where a pursued Nutrition and Food Science. I have always thought of setting up my own business to help create employment for other youths who are unemployed. As such I have set up a small business which I process Cashew nuts (thus roasted cashew nuts) to my customers. My hobbies are; watching movies, soccer and reading books.

My Business

I am into processing of Cashew nuts for human consumption. I buy all my raw products (thus semi-processed Cashew nuts) from wholesalers. I have been doing this business for close to 2 to 5 years now. My products are not only liked for their great taste but also the high nutritional value. Cashew is known to contain high amount of magnesium which is nutritionally known to help in brain development. I earn approximately $273 per month. The demand is very high, but I am only able to produce few due to insufficient funds to buy more raw materials for processing. I want to expand my business so I can also employ other youths into it and also enrich the nutritional life of other humans. I am happy that I am self employed and can contribute to my society.

Loan Proposal

When i am granted the loan, i will use part of the loan to buy a gas oven. Purchasing of a gas oven will enable me to roast more cashew nuts which will eventually increase my daily production. The remaining amount will be used to purchase additional cashew nuts and other packaging materials to add more value to my products. Roasted cashew nut is liked by many people not just by their taste but their nutritional aspect is of great importance to the body. I am able to raise GHc 1000 per month with a high profit margin. This will help me to repay the loan just as i did in my first loan.
