About Me

I am named Catherine Asimah Pelletier, I live in Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana with House Number NTE 006, Newtown in Berekum municipality. I had my senior high education at Notre Dame Girls Senior High School and continue at Sunyani Polytechnic and pursued Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) certificate. I am first born of my families. I am currently teaching at St. Augustine Senior High School, Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana while I am also pursing my distance learning at Catholic University, Fiapre. I have my own Hardware shop also in Berekum Municipality. My hobbies are; Movies, Reading and Playing volleyball.

My Business

After completing Polytechnic, I decided to further my education at the University without any delay. But I couldn’t get it so due to financial problem. My parents who will take all my responsibility also tried their best after completing Polytechnic. So I soon realized that, if I may work and get money to support a little amount I have, it will surely help me as well and also take care of my parents. So I went for a job at one of the Rural Bank in the Berekum Municipality and work for about one and half 1 ½ years. So I saved part of my monthly salary in order to support my education. After that, I got another chance at St. Augustine Senior High School as a teacher. And I also soon realized that, if I may open Hardware shop in my community it will surely patronize as well as there is no any hardware shop at that area. So I started the Hardware shop with a few items including; Wheel barrow, Paint, Shovel, Hammer, Screw driver, Saw blade, Nails, Padlock, Carpet, Paint brush, and many more. Now I can say that, my shop is always busy and well improving. Because now people are putting up their block house, so they always request for the items to use for their work. I hope this business will help for my education and my parents’ daily meals. I am currently teaching, so I will be able to pay this loan back, even if I couldn’t use the profit of this business, I will use my monthly salary to re-pay this loan.

Loan Proposal

In my first loan, I requested the amount to purchase paints and nails to stock my shop. This has eventually increased the number of customers who come to my shop to buy because they are always able to buy various kinds of paints they want to have.

I have requested another loan to be able to buy more of the paints, especially the various types I don't have in my shop, to always make them available for customers. 177 dollars will be used to purchase the paints. I will also use the remaining 100 dollars of the loan to buy additional roofing sheets, which are at a high demand in my area. With this, more people will come in to buy, which will again increase my profit margin to GHc 1000 per month. I will then be able to pay back the loan with the profits I will be making.

    Dear Lenders,

Please, I contacted to Catherine and very fortunately, she was on her way to the MTN service centre to upload her wallet. When I asked her why does she delayed the payment, the answer I got from her was that, she has has invested her loan into the business but now she's almost getting the money back. So this week she will do payment. Thank you.
