About Me

I am Peggy Rose Appiah, I am 40 years old and a single mother of one. I lost my father when I was in primary school class six at the age of twelve (12). I was therefore catered for by my paternal uncle. Financially things were difficult for me and my other seven siblings. Hawking on the street with various items for sale so as to make income for our upkeep.
When I finished secondary school, I stayed home for two years in order to raise enough capital before entering school. I passed my secondary school exams successfully and worked as a sale girl. I saved a little money from my sales girl job and then entered Takoradi polytechnic where I graduated with higher national diploma, where I did national service and then currently working with Alpha Capital and also studying a degree course in marketing during weekends. I have a son who i am also taking care of at the basic level.

My Business

It my plan to school to the master’s level where I will form my Own advertising company where I can employ the youths in my community to help reduce unemployment in my area and also help others get job doing and earn a decent living.
Currently it is my wish to educate myself, my son and dependents to the master’s level, knowing that education is key to personal and national development.
At the moment, I own a provision shop where I do petty trading in cosmetics and provision items too so as to help me make some additional income.

Loan Proposal

I intend to use the loan to pay child's school fees. I am a single mother. I earn a monthly salary even though enough, I intend to use the loan to pay my child's school fees and then use my salary to repay the loan.

1. Payment of school fees $ 150
2. Buying of books and study materials $ 40
3. Feeding, bills and maintenance $ 70
In all I nee a total of $ 260 to be able to send my child to school

It is our first time, using Zidisha. We are positivly surprised to get the money back so fast.
Now we are looking to reinvest the available lending credit again.

I will be able to pay for my son weekly transportation to school, Pay for his feeding expense fees and also make Part-payment of our annual rent.
This would help keep my son in school and then make my part-payment rent and have peace of mind.

    Early Payment Bonus

A borrower is told to complete repayment before a certain time limit so that he/she can get early payment bonus, you work hard to complete the repayment before that time yet you are denied that bonus and your previous loan amount is even higher than your current loan amount.
Currently my Total Credit Risk Fee (CRF) is $ 91.93 yet my current loan amount is only $53.83, lower than even my previous loan amount.
Why do you denied me the early payment bonus even though I paid my loan earlier?
When one post comment in the forum which need an answer from the Zidisha staffs to explain detail to you, the message is rather deleted.
Now my total credit risk fee (CRF) is higher than the loan amount given to me, why charging me another CRF again for? I'm paying my loan very well yet you denied me bigger loan amount and refuse to increase my credit limit, and you keep charging me CRF putting it in a so called pool for others you are approving bigger loans amount for, if they default then you use all of us our CRF in the pool to settle lenders. Is there any fairness in Zidisha again?

      Peggy,
in your app, you will find a HELP link. Use that and post your concern above so that a ticket will get created for Support group. Posting it here on your discussion board is not going to get this looked at/resolved.

Looks like the $91.93 amount you refer to for CRF is total for multiple loans? Since Dec 2018, CRF is no longer refundable to borrower.

      • Peggy Rose    Jun 22, 2019

        Hello Joshi,
Yes, exactly so. The $91.93 is the total accumulation of multiple loans I borrowed since Dec 2018. Even when the CRF was refundable, there is no way a borrower's total CRF was higher than his/her loan amount. Now the CRF is non-refundable, why is my total CRF from Dec 2018 till date be higher than my loan amount? Is it still called a loan? Over the months, I made more contribution into the CRF than I'm borrowing. Continue this way, it would make me poorer than ever before.
Below is my credit limit progression. Sometimes it even decreases, WHY? I log ticket yesterday and today i had a reply but it doesn't answer why I completed repayment early but was denied early repayment bonus.
        Dec 2018 - Dec 2018 72 GHS
        Dec 2018 - Dec 2018 108 GHS
        Dec 2018 - Jan 2019 110 GHS
        Jan 2019 - Jan 2019 353 GHS
        Jan 2019 - Jan 2019 438 GHS
        Jan 2019 - Feb 2019 468 GHS
        Feb 2019 - Feb 2019 478 GHS
        Feb 2019 - Mar 2019 240 GHS
        Mar 2019 - May 2019 156 GHS
        May 2019 - Jun 2019 195 GHS
        Jun 2019 - Jun 2019 423 GHS
        Jun 2019 - Present 260 GHS

          Hello Laurie,
Yes, I strongly believe so, Thank you very much for your concern.

          • Joshi    Jun 25, 2019

As Laurie says above, I think you should create another ticket via the HELP link. I am not familiar with early repayment and I do not find anything about it in the FAQ either.

The CRF funds, accumulated from all borrowers, are used to offset defaulted loans. This does result in some borrowers bearing the burden. If this is to be avoided, Zidisha will have to ask for collateral and charge interest, like a traditional bank. I absolutely understand your frustration about this and have myself commented about this in forum articles. Wish there was a better option.

While I cannot do anything about CRF, what I WILL do is contribute as best as I can to your loan applications...
