About Me

My name is Bounovia Beatrice Brobbey. I am from Cape Coast. I am into trading just after I completed my senioir high school Nigritian College I did had plans to continue my education but since I started a business that I have so much passion in it , my heart is now in the business I am engaged in. In this introduction, I am going to tell you little bit about my background, interests, and my achievements.

Background
I was born in a small village called Cape Coast. Cape Coast is located about 70 kilometers south of the capital city of Ghana, Accra which is the 1st city in Ghana. I spent about eight years in my hometown. Cape Coast is famous for its castels and dungeouns which were used to transport slaves in the slave trade era.
My everyday activities included going to my rabbit farm in my backyard, enjoying reading, watching television, and going to church in the evening time.

After spending eight years in my hometown I moved to obuasi where I was born to join with my family. After my senior high school in obuasi I studied computer for a couple of months before engaging in the rabbit farming. I also found a part time job at a local restaurant to help my parents financially just after completing school.

Interests
I like watching watching movies preferably foreign movies. I always enjoyed reading, writing and cooking. Growing up as a child and until now, (my adulthood) it has been mine (my) and my parents dream for me to become a Doctor or a Mining Engineer.
Unfortunately I could not pursue my parents dream for me due to monetary constrains. I decided to enter into business just to assist my retired parents.

Achievements:
I have achieved many different goals in life. Some of my achievements are bigger than the others, which has given me greater satisfaction. The top five achievements that gave me the greatest personal satisfaction includes:
1. Being student of the month in my English class
2. Getting a catering job which was my passion
3. Going to college
4. Learning English language

My Business

RABBIT FARMING
Rabbit farming business is a very lucrative and did have the passion for animals husbandry and live stock farming so I took a week course on rabbit, snail, grasscutter and fish farming but decided to focus on rabbit.
I started it in our backyard, with just two male rabbits and six females, a wire cage. That was about a year ago. I live in the mining town of obuasi that has the biggest single goldmine in the world. It is a multinational company and they have about four hunderd Australians expatriate working on the mine and other private companies having contracts with the mine. The Australians are much in love with rabbit meat and have started visiting our premises to buy my rabbit. The demand for the rabbit meat is getting higher everyday from both the Australians and the locals so I really have to increase the number of rabbit to meat the demand. I would be grateful if you assist me with a loan to enable me to put up extra housing and rear more of the rabbit to meet the demand and also employ someone with knowledge and passion for animals. I also have plans to dress the animals for my customers and increase the price of the rabbit. I have to give my customers the best quality services.
The Potentials and Profitability of Rabbit Farming
• Rabbits are prolific in nature
• Rabbits meat is highly in demand as it is medically recommended over red meat.
• Rabbits have low mortality rate.
• Rabbits are not aggressive and require minimal handling
