About Me

I am was born in a remote area western side of Kenya and went through my tertiary and o level school through hardship since my parents unemployed and at some point in my o level i was forced to drop from school to do casual jobs in order to raise semester fees. I thank God for he helped me through Undergraduate Degree which i managed to attain from my small wages. I now operate a cyber cafe in the coastal areal of Kenya. I like helping needy children and also pass my acquired knowledge to the community through volunteer social work like adult education and girl-child education.

I thank God for giving me a passion for children and this made me open a cyber cafe where children around my community
do come for computer lessons after school in the evening.

My Business

With the little empowerment from Zidisha, my business grew and because of the service and passion for children,a local school engaged me to pilot a computer lesson in their school which i have been doing as a CSR but to ensure continuity,we share the overhead costs like computer transportation and maintenance with the parents. However, towards the end of 2014, we were struck by terrorism which saw my business suffer losses since my shop was broken into and 2 computers stolen. This forced me to relocate to other safe area where i had to start from scratch and now i have 5 computers serving over 100 children in a class. This is a challenge and is why i will continually come back to Zidisha family to empower me with loans so that i can buy more computers and set up a computer lab in the school so that i can touch the hearts of our children in a substantial way.

My source of income is the cyber business where i currently command a clientele base of about 20 persons per day which generate about USD185 per week and i also sell soft drinks accessories which also has a weekly turn over of USD170.

My total monthly income is in the range of USD1480 P/M and my total overhead costs is in the range of USD285 P/M.My greatest risk is the cyber crime where clients can use my computer to do the vice hence arrested. To cub this,i have managed to disable some sited and have also employed a standby technician to manage the breakdown just in case.

My vision is to set up a computer lab for our children in my local school and extend to the neighboring schools then set up a computer college where children and the elderly who are illiterate of semi-illiterate can come after school or work to do their computer lessons. I would like to be advanced the loan so that i can purchase a printer since i have not been able to purchase a printer hence missing on revenue and also not able to teach children practically how to print a document from the computer.

Loan Proposal

To purchase a printer for for my cyber business and double it as a computer lessons learning tool which i do as a volunteer in our local school. I currently operate with 5 computers without a printer for over 100 children. It has not been possible to have quality printing in my cyber and also teach children practically how to print a document from a computer.
