MY NAME IS ELVIS GYAMFI FROM SUNYANI BUT STAYS AT DROBO. I STARTED SCHOOL AT SUNYANI. MY FATHER RETIRED FROM TEACHING WHEN I WAS TEN YEARS OLD. I AM THE ELDEST OF MY PARENTS AND WE ARE SEVEN IN NUMBER AS A FAMILY. LIFE WAS NOT EASY AT ALL FOR ME AS A BASIC SCHOOL KID. WITH THE HELP OF MY DAD SAVINGS AND HELP FROM EXTERNAL FAMILY RELATIVES AM NOW A DIPLOMA HOLDER WITH A WIFE AND A BABY GIRL. TOGETHER WITH MY WIFE WE HAVE STARTED STATIONERY BUSINESS. IT IS OUR DREAM TO HAVE THE BEST OF QUALITY EDUCATION FOR OUR CHILDREN TILL THEY ARE GAINFULLY EMPLOYED. I LOVE READING BOOKS AND WATCHING MOVIES ON MY LEISURE TIME.

My Business

I AM INTO STATIONERY BUSINESS. I CARRY THE BOOKS TO NEARBY VILLAGES AND SCHOOLS TO SELL TO THEM. I SELL ITEMS LIKE EXERCISE BOOKS, TEXT BOOKS, PAMPHLETS, ATLAS, CHALK, FOAM MAKER, PENS AND PENCILS, DRAWING BOARD, MATHEMATICAL SETS, CALCULATORS AND OTHER TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS. MY RETURNS ACCRUE TO ABOUT 200 GHANA CEDIS IN EVERY WEEK. I USE PART OF THE PROFIT SAVED ON THE PAYMENT OF MY CHILDREN FEES AND RE-INVEST THE REMAINING IN THE BUSINESS.

Loan Proposal

Since I am into Stationery business, I will invest this amount in the business. We deal in all stationery items ranging from all types of exercise and text books, mathematical sets, calculators, pencils and pens etc.
The unit price of each item varies, ranging from less than a dollar to about $20.
The business has been of tremendous help to my family and the community at large. We sometimes give learning materials to some less privilege students in the community. On certain days, we travel to the communities distant from the district capital to sell to them. This help those living in the the rural areas to get any item of their choice to buy with ease.
With profit increment, we are expecting something ranging from 30 to 40 percent.
To achieve this, we have to do more than just sitting in the shop and waiting for customers. We have to go the customers. Coupled with other activities which are all in place to boost sales and therefore increase profit, we can achieve profit target.
