About Me

My name is Lewis Amankona. I am a 22 year old Ghanaian from Berekum in the B rong Ahafo region. I started my basic education at the Berekum Grace Preparatory School. I furthered at the Armed Forces Senior High School at Kumasi. I am currently a third year Renewable Energy Resource student at the University of Energy at Sunyani. Life has not been easy since infancy. During my primary days, Mama had to sell fish at the market to raise something small for our school fees. She could try to get the fees but getting us feeding fee was another problem so we had to manage with little she had. After my Senior High School education, I set up a provision shop to help my mother take care of the house. Right now the income we generate from that business is what is used to take care of my hostel fees, handouts and other materials necessary. The people in my land are caring and humble. Most children would like to be Bank Managers. During my leisure time, I read books and newspapers.

My Business

My business is about provisions. We sell all kinds of provisions. We have Gari, Milo, Milk powder, biscuits and my other provisions. The goods are very demanding in my area because first of all, that is the only provision store in the area. Also, there are so many students in the area hence the high demand for these items. When school resumes, there is high pressure at the shop. I chose this type of business, right after my Senior High School education, to help my mother earn enough income to cater for the family. She uses the money to care for the needs of my sister, my brother and I. Each month, we spend close to $200 on goods. I plan to use the profit we earn when the loan is given to me to assist my nephew in his education. Thank you.

Loan Proposal

First of all thank you very much for approving my application. When the loan is given to me, I just want to use it to support my nephew's education. He is in primary four (4) now. I want to buy pencils, pens, books, sandals, new school bag, new food flask and also pay for his school fees. Since his mother doesn't have enough, I want to take him as my responsibility. His school fees is $55. The other items may cost around $50. Getting him these items will greatly enhance his studies, his performance, his skills and make him very knowledgeable. He can buy many books he doesn't have now and also buy very important books that can help become genius. I wish to continue taking care of him till he graduates from the University. Once again thank you for the opportunity.
