About Me

My Story.
I grew up in different towns in Kenya due to having civil servants as my parents therefore I have learnt to embrace cultural diversity since I was young. I have had the previledge of getting College education and getting formal employment and therefore understand and appreciate hard work, work ethics, competition for quality services and products and high standards.

I have always had a keen interest in farming and farming business since I was 10 years old. At that age I would get manure, earthworms and plant flowers in pots and my plants always did better than my mothers flowers. While still working for my employer, I had a little garden that I had planted vegetables and always had a surplus of vegetables to supply the local market. I always made more money from my little garden than from my employers pay cheque.

Eventualy, I left formal employment to concentrate on business since my gardening and mobile business on the sides was financially more rewarding than the formal job.

Business and farming have always been what I wanted to do since I was a little girl.

My Business

My Business

I am in the farming and farm produce business. I have had a hands on experience in farming and produce business fot the past 5 years. I have worked with different crops and animal products from within the country including going to neighbouring countries to import products like Sunflower, fish, Maize and Cotton by products for animal feeds production.

There is a huge opportunity in food markets in Kenya given that Rural to Urban Migration is a reality and that most arable land for farming around major cities is swiftly being replaced by brick and mortar. Food prices have therefore been on an upward trend and therefore good business opportunity for Food producers and middle men.

Loan Proposal

I intend to buy good quality seedlings with the $150 funding of this tomato project. I have already purchased fertilizers, some emergency pest control chemicals besides the land preparation that I have already done on the farm.

This Tomato farming project will not only provide me with a good income, it will also ease my costs of buying tomatoes from the market to supply boarding schools for the existing orders that I already have at present thereby expanding my margin.
The type of seedlings that I intend to buy are already grown in the nursery and will have matured in two months. There is already an existing shortage of tomatoes in the market and as we draw towards the end of the year, the demand for tomatoes will be huge leading to high prices and I intend to make use of this.
I have a ready good harvest of onions that I intend to sell and use the proceeds to pay up my loan with. I think this plan is good and looking forward to working with lenders to achieve this exciting objective.
