About Me

Poverty is one of the major problem facing people in Africa though we have enough lands to cultivate in order to improve our live conditions. But currently, it is very difficult to secure funding for farming and that is not helping the youth like myself who love farming and will like to make it a business to create jobs for themselves and others. I was very lucky to have inherited from my late dad a cocoa farm which i want to improve on it. I believe with the help of Zidisha loan scheme, i will be able to expand my business so as to employ a lot of people and also inter into other areas of farming as i desire to do. This way i will not only help to solve unemployment issue facing my country but i will also contribute to the export commodities which can help our economy as a country.

My Business

Basically, am a farmer and am into cocoa farming. It is family legacy which i inherited and i intend to expand it by adding animal farming and also other areas of crops production. I enjoy doing this business because it is a good source of income and i do not have to worry about payment from any one which might delay. Every year, am able to get not less than 100 bags from my farm and i want to improve it by expanding it to the lands i have but yet to be cultivated. I believe if am able to do so, i can increase the bags i get a year to 200 or even more which has always been my dream. I also was want to enter into cassava farming which i have enough land to do that. I have started breeding grass cutter and snail to start animal farming this year. It is very lucrative farming business and i love to get involve. Currently, i want to expand my business and add value to my products before selling to the market. I want to package my products very nicely to attract more customers and my next loan will be used for that purpose.

Loan Proposal

I want to spray my farm against pests. I have been facing attack by pests and i want to make sure i don't lose my investment. Due to that i have decided to spray the whole farm to enable me deal with the problem. The chemical i want to use will cost me about $140. I will pay four workers to assist me do the spraying and the remaining amount will be used to pay for their services to me. This loan will help me as i said to fight the battle of pest in my flourishing farm. Am very possible that if am able to solve this problem i will harvest addition five bags to what i harvested last year and that will mean a lot to me and my family. Thank you.
