About Me

I was born and bred in Kibra, Nairobi in a family of four where I decided to be a man for change. I planned venturing in Education and Business at a tender age I had envisioned myself as a doctor. I worked hard and I was enrolled in the best of schools; from Olympic Primary to Highway Secondary then a detour to Kitui High which eventually landed me in Kenya Medical Training College. Here I studied Clinical Medicine and Minor Surgery.
It was in college where I raised money and started my small time business with only a single computer and a printer. Though my business seemed to be growing with it came an undying need for funds that came from it which made it difficult to progress business wise. Am now about to do my internship, which unfortunately in this course, does not pay even for your upkeep and demands that you fully participate in it full-time for I year. This fact, and lack of finances depite my efforts to save and plough back profits, are the reasons why I kindly request for your assistance.
Please consider me because internship posting is already underway and am about 2 weeks late.
It is my hope that Zidisha funds will help me off load the injury gotten when I utilize my profits for schooling because this not only will it ease that, but also help expand my business which can comfortably sustain itself provided I don't tamper with the profits.

Thank you in advance.

My Business

My business is based mainly on offering computer services to the surrounding environment. These services include photocopying, type-setting, printing, scanning, browsing, card designing among others. Being a remote area such services are not common and I found it the most appropriate business after several others failed. It is then that I decided to start this business and 5 years down the line I haven’t complained except the expenses which I am incurring with the demand that comes with internship. With my initial loan, I feel much obliged to state that my business is now booming and I am thinking of expanding it with one employee already at bay. I have dominated in this line of business for quite some time and have found the need to acquire a new printer which I can buy as the price affordable. With this new addition it is my hope that the stressful balance between my internship and business management will finally be off my back. I am now pocketing profits of about KSH 20,000 per month but still have to use around KSH 10,000 for my upkeep leaving me with a net of KSH 10,000. I usually get a gross of about KSH 30,000 and spend approximately KSH 10,000 on my business. I plough back KSH 5,000 of the net therefore eventually saving KSH 5,000. It is with this concerns that I apply for this loan as my hunger for bettering my life and my surroundings is insatiable.
