About Me

Am a mother of 6 and a teacher by profession. I like farming and got the passion of doing it as source of income to supplement my earning from teaching profession.

My dad was a farmer and still a farmer to date and draw a lot of inspirations from him. He has a seven acre piece of land and have discussed with him to assist me with two acres to grow vegetables and sell to nearby households, schools, hotels and even other business people who buy and sell kales and he has agreed.

I therefore bring this to the attention of my lenders in zidisha.

My Business

Vegetables are seasonal crops that take three months before they mature hence a very good as a business opportunity. I will grow both indigenous and exotic vegetables to balance the needs of various clientile.

Am targeting to invest lots of funds and hope zidisha loan can help me start with seedlings. With expected loan of 16,166 Kes I will not be able to buy 16 containers of 250grams kales. The seedlings were to be put in a nursery bed. After 4 weeks this translates to 40,000 seedlings enough to plant two acres. However hope to get next loan in time and afford to do well. Other inputs such as pestcides, fertiliser and labour will be also taken care of. I expect to collect Ksh 5,000 weekly during the rainy season.

Loan Proposal

Farming generates substantial wealth in Kenya to many people. My dad and mum are farmers and have learnt alot via their mentorship.

My idea on venturing in kales business is because of the demand from households, schools and hotels nearby and an available resource in form land.

    Hello Susan.
Are you able to start making payments yet? If not, please get in touch with Zidisha to discuss adjusting your installments.
    God bless you,
    Wendy

Please contact Zidisha and ask them to reduce your installments to a more manageable amount for a while. That is better than letting yourself get behind with your payments, which can make it harder to get a loan in the future.
    God bless you,
    Wendy

    Hi Lenders

I have talked to Susan at length. The reason why she has not paid her last instalment was because of delayed salaries by her employer. She was suggesting to pay the loan in two weeks time but i explained to her the need to be prompt so that her repayment status may be favourable for her next loan. I explained to her how she can adjust her instalments to easy ones until she is able to pay the amount in full. She promised to adjust the amount and pay by Sunday this week.
Wish her all the best. Happy new year Susan.
