About Me

My name is Moussa Go and I live in Banfora. I come from Dedougou, Burkina Faso. I worked at SN SUSUCO, a sugar refinery in Banfora. At the same time, I started to make fly swatters and shoes out of old tires. In 2008, I left my work at Susuco to make fly swatters full time. After I met a Peace Corps volunteer, I started to make sacks and other accessories too. I did not attend school, but I learned to read with my friends. With the profits from by business, I want to grow my business and my brother is going to help me.

My Business

My organization is called "La vie chere" and it's creative recycling. I make shoes, fly swatters, and bags out of inner tubes and old tires. I can also make messenger bags. I am the only person in Burkina who does this and I earn decent profits from it. With the loan, I want to purchase a new sewing machine and hire some women or my brother. I want to export these products to the United States. With a new machine, I could increase the quality of my products. My costs are variable and normally I make 100,000 CFA in sales each month. Thanks.

Loan Proposal

Visit www.laviechere.org! With the loan I am going to purchase a sewing machine. Now, I use a machine that does not use electricity. I have many orders in Burkina and from the United States and I need a new machine to improve the quality of my products and to employ women from Banfora who could help me. With the new machine, we can make more products faster. I am going to reinvest in my business.

Moussa, I have a briefcase made of recycled tractor tire inner tubes. It is waterproof and so protects my laptop computer. I'm glad to invest in your creative green business!

    Good morning!!!
I'm very glad of this positive cooperation. I'd like to tell you how my business is going after having had the loan from Zidisha. But before let me just thank you again!!!
My shop had an electrical problem but with the loan I could solve it.
Plus, I was able to pay for a Toshiba laptop for my job and researches.
Also, I've been able to pay a lot of goods for my business like tubes and other products that can satisfy my customers.
I would also like to ask for your support for renewing the agreement for next year!
I'm sorry if I didn't inform you on time but I had a connectivity problem.
Thanks and have a nice day!!!
    Sincerely,
    Go Moussa

    Good evening ZIDISHA!
You have my utmost gratitude. At one point in my life, I had lost all hope because I didn't have much to grow my business with. That's how I was connected with Zidisha, which has now allowed me to expand my business!
These days it's impossible to receive a loan without a guarantor but with ZIDISHA you can!
That's why I thank ZIDISHA from the bottom of my heart!
The ZIDISHA loan helped me a lot. I used it to buy a machine that let me work twice as fast as I did before. I used to lose a lot of clients because I took too long!
The 1st loan was for a sewing machine. It allowed me to take big orders and more clients and my orders were ready on time!
I even bought a motorcycle so I could get my work materials faster.
With the 2nd loan, I installed an electric meter in my business. Previously several of us were using one meter and I paid the most since I used a machine. But now things are going well since I don't even pay half of what I was before because I got my own meter. Since transportation is less of a problem now, I went to Bobo to buy my supplies and return on time because I can't get all the work supplies I need in Banfora. I'm ahead of schedule thanks to ZIDISHA!
I'm sorry for my long absence without posting any news. I don't have a lot of free time. I just wanted to say that everything is going well. My business is growing thanks to ZIDISHA and the people (MienDeGraeve, James Megivern) that introduced me to ZIDISHA. A big thank you goes out to all of you!

    Gô Moussa

    Hi everybody,
Because the internet connection in Banfora is not always very good, Moussa has troubles uploading pictures, so he asked me if I wanted to post this picture for him. You can now also support Moussa and his business through buying his products on etsy.com. You'll find more information about online purchasing and a beautiful overview of the very original and fashionable footwear and accessories at La Vie Chère on www.laviechere.org!
    Best,

Je viens moi mr. Moussa GO témoigner que cette ONG m'a fais un prêt qui m'a permis de passer du simple cordonnier a un recycleur. En effet ce prêt m'a permis l'acquisition d'une machine a coudre électrique. Cela me permet de vite satisfaire mes clients. Je viens a travers ce mail remercier l'ong zidisha de son aide et lui souhaiter bons vents dans l'accompagnement de ceux qui ont difficilement accès au système de crédit bancaire classique.
