About Me

My name is Linda, a proud mother of one son. I hold a certificate in early childhood education and work as a teacher at Lily Kindergarten. This has been my passion and hobby is to be with young children. I remember when growing up, my mother used to have problems with me by either coming home with a big number of friends for lunch without prior notice or taking stuff like clothes and food to friends without the knowledge of my parents.
While dealing with the kids at school, i discovered that a lot of waste is generated especially from worn out books and other learning aid materials. In previous years we used to burn the papers but eventually after learning that this papers can be collected, sorted then sold, my small business was good to go.

My Business

I collect waste papers, boxes, magazines, book and newspapers which in turn i sell to the paper recycling industry who eventually process the back to toilet paper. Most kids in my neighborhood call me "mama makaratasi" a swahili name meaning mother of papers. I get my supplies from neighbors, schools, stationary shops and sometimes i walk from house to house to buy old newspapers (which are the best and easy to resell) within the estates in my region.
I buy one Kilogram of papers at USD 0.16 and sell them to the recycling industries at USD 0.26 per kilogram. I have used the profit to reinvest in the business and to facilitate my home expenses and look forward to expand and start saving for my son's education expenses.

Loan Proposal

Currently i have a capital base of between USD 27, but i wish to increase my capital in order to maximize the profits by being able to increase the current waste paper stock that i supply to the industries from 150 kilograms to 500 kilograms in a month
This business has really improved my life and has minimal competition, it also helps the community to keep the environment clean and hence we have a healthy living.
When my loan will be funded am looking forward to making 100% on the returns within a short time.
